Jonnie Irwin has shared some further snaps of his Father’s Day celebrations after receiving a gift to mark the special day.
The A Place In The Sun presenter, 49, revealed last year he could only have ‘months to live’ after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
The TV star has been super candid about his journey with lung cancer – which has spread to his brain – over the last few months.
Recently, he shared adorable family photos of his Father’s Day, and said it was the ‘best ever’ with Guinness cake, cricket, and loved ones.
But his children – Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac – remain unaware of his diagnosis.
Updating followers again yesterday on his recent precious family moments, Jonnie posted a picture of a Father’s Day present he received from Time Out Space furniture.
The big outdoor table and chairs looked to be put to good use over a few idyllic sunny days for the family.
In some further pictures, Jonnie can be seen eating his Guinness cake with a cup of something warm, as the children enjoyed playing in the garden.
Sun beat down on the happy scene, which Jonnie captured in a short video as one of his children sat beside him, seemingly unaware this could be his final few months with dad.
Jonnie said ‘weather permitting’ they were going to enjoy all their meals al fresco because of the gift.
He captioned the extra pictures with: ‘Super grateful to @time_out_space for my Fathers Day present.
‘Weather permitting we’re using this dining set for all of our meals and can at last have a proper grownup garden party!’
The comments section flooded with admiration and support for the TV star, as one person wrote: ‘This is so wonderful. Have the most wonderful time with your beautiful family.’
Another said: Enjoy Jonnie. You deserve all these special moments. Sending love and best wishes ❤️💙.’
In his original Father’s Day post, Jonnie shared some gorgeous family photographs, and wrote: ‘Breakfast of Chocolate Guinness cake baked expertly my brilliant wife then cards from the boys and visit from my brother in law for a brief pillion ride back in time to enjoy some of the highs and lows of the Ashes ending in more cake with more family washed down by a drop of champers.’ [sic]
Jonnie previously admitted the reason he hasn’t told his children about the devastating diagnosis is because he doesn’t want to ‘confuse’ them.
‘I keep being asked, “Are you going to tell them?” but tell them what?’, he told Hello!.
‘It would be horrible news that they’d have to get their heads around. And it would confuse the hell out of Rex – he’s got a shocking enough day coming. Let’s bury our heads in the sand for as long as possible.’
