IT’S summer time, which means Brits are breaking up a sweat.
Deodorant and antiperspirant can help to combat sweat and bad odours.
But they can also leave items of clothing with white marks that are tough to remove.
However, they are not impossible according to a cleaning fan.
Amelia, 41, who goes by the name of Amelia’s Home Edit on TikTok, has revealed a super easy trick in removing those annoying stains.
She claims that removing the “cakey, deodorant build up” is super easy and everyone can do
Amelia first starts off by saying that the Dr. Beckman Glow White Ultra, which can be bought from Amazon for £1.65, is a must have.
She claims that it must have “oxygen bleach, not normal bleach, oxygen bleach.”
Oxygen bleach is a safer bleach to use on clothes as it is a natural, plant derivative product called sodium percarbonate.
Once this product is exposed to water it releases oxygen which lifts out stains and dirt.
Amelia then goes on to say that you need “dishwashing detergent, household vinegar and a toothbrush.”
She mixes the three together in a pot, and uses the toothbrush to scrub the item of clothing.
Amelia says: “Give it a good scrub – you want it to really bubble up. Get it right in there.”
She then shows the results to the camera, and the stain has been removed.
Amelia often shares hacks for looking after the laundry and the home.
She has managed to gain over 102k TikTok followers by doing so.
And many often rush to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “Bleach and vinegar makes chlorine gas.”
To which Amelia replied: ”Oxygen bleach is gentle, it’s very different from standard liquid bleach.”
Another asked: “How do you remove texta (marker pen) stain on white school shirt?”
And Amelia replied: “Have you tried gently wiping with methylated spirits on the end of a cotton bud? I’ve read that works well for children’s textas but it also depends on the fabric, colour etc???”
