A FORMER Primark employee has revealed the annoying mistake that customers often make, which would drive the staff insane.
So if you regularly shop in Primark, you’ll want to pay attention.
While most holiday-goers would think about getting bits for their trip at least a week in advance, Holly Laing, 22, from Northampton, claimed that when she worked for the high-street chain, she would often deal with customers scrambling to find last-minute items for their trips.
Posting on social media, Holly acted out a common scenario that would happen when she worked in Primark, whereby customers would be frustrated that the store didn’t have their size, just as they were about to go abroad.
Holly said: “POV: A customer is doing their holiday clothes shopping.”
The ex-retail worker then acted out a common scenario, as she pretended to be a customer, who said: “Excuse me, love, you don’t have my size in the thing that I want.”
To this, Holly would typically respond: “Oh sorry about that.”
After getting odd stares from the angry-looking customer, Holly then replied: “Was there anything else I can help you with?”
Much to her surprise, the customer would then snap: “Well no, that’s me asking you to find one out the back for me.”
To this, Holly would often apologise and note: “Sorry, that wasn’t very clear.”
However, she claimed that customers in these scenarios would often be in a rush and would typically then reply: “I’m going on holiday in two hours so I really need you to speed this up.”
However, after checking the stock, Holly would then return to the customer and confirm: “Everything that’s out is everything that we’ve got. We don’t have anything out the back.”
But much to the anger of the shopper, the customer would typically reply with: “But you’ve got every other size apart from mine.
“I really need this thing for my holiday.”
As a result, Holly advised shoppers: “Don’t do your holiday shop two hours before your holiday.”
Holly’s TikTok clip, which was shared under the username @holly_laing, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a staggering 241,700 views.
Many Primark employees could relate to Holly and were eager to express this in the comments.
One person said: “God I can relate to this where a customer has asked for something that we don’t have as they’re going on holiday soon.”
Another added: “Why leave the holiday shopping so late.”
A third commented: “I work at Primark and see this.”
