EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick appears to have confirmed the fate of character Jay Brown after recent dramatic scenes, and it is bad news for fans.
In scenes aired on BBC iPlayer today (October 25), it was revealed that Jay had been involved in a serious accident, after getting behind the wheel of a car while under the influence of ketamine.
We have been left on the edge of our seats wondering whether or not Jay has survived the crash, with the episode having ended on a dramatic cliffhanger.
However, actor Jamie has sent fans into a spin by posting a tribute to his alter ego, implying that the character really is dead.
‘Rip Jay… gonna miss you lad we had a laugh didn’t we,’ he wrote beneath a sweet picture of a much younger Jay, with the song Time to Say Goodbye playing in the background.
Horrified fans instantly took to X/Twitter to express their feelings, with many calling for him to say he’s joking.
While some hated the idea that jay may be dead, others just seemed totally confused.
Unfortunately, it is as yet unclear as to whether or not Jamie has revealed a huge spoiler or is simply having a laugh – with Jay’s fate still completely unknown.
If Jay were to die, it would certainly have a significant effect on his family, particularly Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), whose last words wished death upon the man he had brought up as his own son.
With Ben, Callum and Billy having all left things on bad terms with Jay, will they get the chance to make amends, or will they live to regret their actions?
