King Charles III has delivered his first King’s Speech at the State Opening of Parliament.

It was the first time a King’s Speech had been read in 70 years, although the monarch had previously addressed Parliament on behalf of his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, before her dead in 2022.

It was also Rishi Sunak’s first as prime minister and outlined 21 laws that ministers intend to pass in the next year.
