A MUM has been charged with the murder of a five-month-old baby girl.
Hayley Macfarlane, 39, is due to appear in court after her daughter was found in a “serious condition” in a pram at a Leeds park.
The infant, who has now been named as Evelyn, was involved in an incident at Woodhouse Moor park, on Wednesday, around 5.44pm.
She was rushed to hospital but was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
Evelyn’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed by cops.
Macfarlane has since been charged with her murder.
She has been remanded and will appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on Saturday.
Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle said on Thursday: “The death of a child in these circumstances is clearly a very tragic incident and we are carrying out enquiries to get a complete picture of what has occurred.
“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the park around this time and who witnessed anything or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
