A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 26-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a white van as he was walking.

It happened at 05:00 GMT on Saturday at the junction of Preston Road and Cumberland Road in Brighton, East Sussex.

The van drove away from the scene but was stopped on the A27 in Worthing, West Sussex later.

A 40-year-old man from Brighton has been arrested.
