The man was given a further extension to his driving ban, meaning he is now banned from driving until 2027, Staffordshire Police said.

In a tweet, the force said in this case it would also be talking to the Crown Prosecution Service about making representations for a prison sentence.

People who accumulate 12 or more points on their licence, external within a three-year period can face a six-month driving ban.

They face a 12-month ban if they pick up a second disqualification within three years, and a two-year ban if they get a third disqualification in a three-year period.
