This Mothers’ Day several women started a hunger strike outside parliament to protest rising food costs and pressures on family budgets.

On Wednesday the chancellor unveiled his budget – cutting national insurance by 2 pence.

By Thursday the PM said he wanted to go even further by cutting it altogether, a policy he today said could be funded by benefit cuts.
