Man United 4-3 Liverpool – FA Cup quarter-final: Live score and updates as Amad Diallo seals STUNNING extra-time comeback to end Jurgen Klopp’s Quadruple hopes
Those matches, both at Wembley, will be on the weekend of April 20-21.
The semi-final draw is coming up
A little later than billed because of the extra time but the FA Cup semi-final draw is coming up.
We’ll see who Manchester United will get at Wembley, with Manchester City, Coventry City and Chelsea also in the draw.
Amad’s huge winner
I imagine this frame will appear in a few newspaper tomorrow.
Amad watching on as he wins the game for United in front of the Stretford End.
And then there were three for Liverpool
When the bitter disappointment fades for Liverpool, they still have the chance to finish this season with a trophy treble.
The Carabao Cup is already in the bag and they can still win the Premier League and the Europa League.
But the way they couldn’t see out that tie was very unlike them. When Harvey Elliott put them 3-2 ahead in extra time, you had to say United looked down and out.
Rashford and Fernandes react to United’s epic win
Rashford: The noise you can tell how important the game is. We’ve not had the season we wanted but we got the win.
I wish I scored half an hour ago but I’m happy we got the job done.
It’s a massive night in the history of United, a big game against Liverpool. It gets us through to the semi-finals.
It’s massive for Amad. He’s been working hard this year, he’s probably not had the opportunities.
Fernandes: We know we have quality on the pitch. We have a young squad. They need time.
We always had belief the problem is we’ve not been consistent with the performance. We gave everything. You want the pressure. This season has not been the level we want.
Our goal for the next of the season is getting into the top four and trying to win the FA Cup. We’re going to give everything. The FA Cup is a big trophy, we’re going to do everything we can to get there.
A potential job-saver for Ten Hag
I’ve not heard Old Trafford as raucous as this for a long while.
Everyone of a United persuasion has stayed behind to applaud the players off the field and their heroes look absolutely exhausted.
Diallo not able to play his full part in the celebrations after removing his shirt to hold it aloft and earned another booking. But he’ll be the toast of the dressing room tonight.
Such a huge moment for Erik ten Hag because that may well have saved his job. They remain on course for a piece of silverware.
How Amad won it for United
FULL-TIME: Manchester United 4-3 Liverpool
It’s over. An instant FA Cup classic that will be remembered for a VERY long time.
Antony and Amad Diallo, two of Erik ten Hag’s least favoured players, have taken them to Wembley and an FA Cup semi-final.
There will be no Liverpool Quadruple and Jurgen Klopp’s farewell tour will not play another Wembley date.
Ten Hag is beaming as he congratulates his players. His side were 2-1 and 3-2 down but somehow salvaged it. Despair for Liverpool, delight for United.
Manchester United 3-3 Liverpool
Into the dying moments of extra time and penalties loom in this epic FA Cup quarter-final. They’ve even delayed the draw until we have a winner.
Rashford hauls United level
Manchester United 3-3 Liverpool
It’s United with the wind in their sails now. Rashford down the left and he slides in a superb pass to McTominay, finding the stamina to charge through the middle. But his shot slips wide.
Manchester United 3-3 Liverpool
Liverpool have responded with a change as Luis Diaz is replaced by Bobby Clark.
Ok, who fancies winning this?
GOAL! Manchester United 3-3 Liverpool – Marcus Rashford 112mins
My word, what a game this is!
It’s Rashford drawing United level again with the sixth goal of the contest and atoning for that earlier miss.
Scott McTominay intercepted the ball and ignored Amad Diallo, who looked the better option to instead feed Rashford and he just rolled the ball into the bottom corner in front of the Stretford End.
Manchester United 2-3 Liverpool
United putting a move together and Harry Maguire, playing as a centre forward now, is the man to fire off a shot that is blocked by Kelleher.
Manchester United 2-3 Liverpool
Has that goal knocked the stuffing out of United, or can they fashion another spell of pressure?
Liverpool don’t appear to be in a hurry to do anything as Kelleher gets booked for time-wasting over a goal kick.
EXTRA TIME – SECOND-HALF: Manchester United 2-3 Liverpool
United with another change at the mid-way stage of extra time as Mason Mount comes on for Victor Lindelof. Ten Hag with little choice but to go for broke now.
HALF-TIME: Manchester United 2-3 Liverpool
Absolute delight for Elliott, who ran straight over to hug Jurgen Klopp after restoring Liverpool’s lead.
The big question now, mid-way through extra time, is whether they can hang on, or do United have another response?
GOAL! Manchester United 2-3 Liverpool – Harvey Elliott 105mins
Out of nothing, Liverpool have re-established their lead!
Harvey Elliott takes aim from just outside the United box after Liverpool work a throw-in. It takes a sizeable deflection off Christian Eriksen and flies into the bottom corner beyond Onana.
Advantage Liverpool in extra time.
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
No question that Marcus Rashford is offside this time as Bruno Fernandes dinks a ball over the top. Misses the target again in any case, drilling the shot across goal and wide.
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
Quite a few thought Victor Lindelof had scored there. Into the side-netting, however, with his potent shot having motored forward down the left.
Sub for Liverpool as Kostas Tsimikas comes on for Joe Gomez.
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
Garnacho wins United a corner and it leads to the Argentine shooting from 25 yards. It’s blocked by compatriot Mac Allister.
Maguire stayed forward, chasing after a hoofed long ball behind Liverpool lines. He tries to lift it onto Rashford’s head but Kelleher leaps to claim.
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
Amad Diallo pulled up for a soft-looking foul on Mac Allister, which reprieves Liverpool during another spell of United pressure.
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
Liverpool foray forward and Alexis Mac Allister heads wide of the mark.
How much will fatigue and stamina come into this, given Liverpool played on Thursday night and United didn’t play in the week?
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
Replays suggest Rashford might have been just offside before he missed that chance.
Can you imagine the agonised VAR check on that one had he scored?
In the present, Antony not too far away with a shot from just outside the Liverpool box.
EXTRA TIME – FIRST HALF: Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
The extra 30 minutes underway at Old Trafford.
Not quite sure what formation United ended up playing late on there but it worked – and now they might have to tweak it.
FULL-TIME: Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
I’m more than happy to have 30 minutes more of this to be honest…
An unbelievable game – Liverpool bossing most of the second-half, United finding a second wind from somewhere and Antony – of all people – drawing them level.
Then Rashford with a gilt-edged chance to win it with the last kick – and he misses.
Into extra time at Old Trafford and who can call it?
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
How has Marcus Rashford missed that?
Great chipped pass over the top by Eriksen, Rashford onside and through, tries to pick out the far corner but sends it wide of the far post. Unbelievable.
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
United pushing for the winner – Eriksen’s corner is half-cleared. Still they come, Liverpool holding on a bit.
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
Four mins added. A winner in regulation time?
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
United wobbling again down the other end – there was panic there as Elliott slices a cross into the six-yard box and it come off the inside of the post. Remarkable! Diaz then can’t force it home and an offside flag is raised.
GOAL! Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool – Antony 87min
Antony picks his moment and Manchester United stay alive in the FA Cup!
Great turn by the Brazilian, showing wily strength to turn away from Endo and pick out the bottom corner after good work on the left initially by Garnacho.
Will we get another 30 minutes of this?
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Amad Diallo the latest potential saviour for United and he’s replacing Raphael Varane as Ten Hag goes for broke. Or one final roll of the dice…
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Liverpool still looking to wrap their win up as Darwin Nunez gets up highest at a corner and heads high and wide.
Have United got anything left?
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Into the final 10 minutes and United still grimly hanging on. Still just needs one goal to force extra time. Liverpool will feel they should have put this to bed.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Liverpool momentarily have a five-on-two break after they counter but they can’t capitalise. Gakpo’s pass was the wrong one and first Lindelof and then Mainoo got tackles in.
Sub for United as Mainoo is replaced by Christian Eriksen.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Two more changes for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp tries to clinch it.
Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are heading off for Cody Gakpo and Conor Bradley.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Liverpool with so much room to exploit when they break. Harvey Elliott has loads of space to get a shot in that is deflected over the top of Onana’s goal for a corner.
Salah whips in a cross that is overhit and into Onana’s gloves.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
United with a rare sight of goal in this second-half as Antony, who has much to prove, fires just wide from the edge of the box. Can he be their unlikely hero today?
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
United have barely entered Liverpool’s half in the past 15 minutes as Fernandes tries to pick out either Rashford or Garnacho ahead of him but fails.
Off go Hojlund and Wan-Bissaka, with Antony and Maguire coming on.
For Liverpool, Szoboszlai is coming off and Harvey Elliott is on.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Actually we have an answer to that because Ten Hag is poised to bring on Antony and Harry Maguire as his side weather another squall of Liverpool pressure.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Midway through the second half and you begin to wonder if there’s anyone Erik ten Hag can turn to from his bench. Antony, Amad Diallo, Omari Forson and Mason Mount among attacking options.
Whether any represents an upgrade on the current Rashford, Hojlund and Garnacho trio is open to debate.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Another slick move by Liverpool as the rain teems down in Manchester. It ends with Mohamed Salah trying to catch Onana out with the curled shot but the keeper is equal to it.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Important save by Andre Onana! Darwin Nunez again causing chaos inside the United box, getting past Varane and unleashing a powerful shot that the United keeper ddi well to repel.
You feel a third Liverpool goal and it’s game over.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Joe Gomez into the book for a high boot that caught Aaron Wan-Bissaka as they went for a 50-50 on the bouncing ball.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
The free-kick is hit by Mac Allister and it wasn’t too far away at all. Just north of the crossbar.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Bruno Fernandes not at all impressed after he’s pulled up for a challenge on Szoboszlai right on the edge of the United box. Fernandes in the end takes himself out the way to avoid saying something stupid and in the end just smiles at the decision.
Fernandes already on a booking, so gets away with it.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Firm low drive by Dominik Szoboszlai after the space just opened up in front of him. Onana down to his right to push it around the post. Far too much space afforded him by United.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Liverpool’s turn to attack now as Salah slips Nunez through in behind Victor Lindelof, who was caught on his heels. Nunez shoots wide.
It came with United fans appealing for a handball against Robertson after the ball flicked off his leg and brushed his hand that was behind his back. Not likely to get that one.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
The game is delightfully open and it’s like a basketball game now.
Rashford feeds Fernandes down the left and his cut-back evades Hojlund in the middle, who would have enjoyed a tap-in. It actually took a nick off the boot of Quansah that went unseen by the ref.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Nice move by Liverpool right through the middle after Mainoo was caught out of position. It ends with Salah drilling across a low ball straight to Onana.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Dogged persistence by Darwin Nunez, who takes the long way round Varane and then tries to sneak the ball home at the near post. Onana alert to his intentions and turns it aside.
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Positive opening to the half by the hosts as they win a corner that is played short and leads to Marcus Rashford running with the ball, only to lose it quite easily to Andy Robertson.
SECOND-HALF: Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
We are back underway at Old Trafford – can United fight their way back into this tie?
Erik ten Hag trying to get the crowd going as he re-emerges from the tunnel. No half-time changes.
Roy Keane not impressed by that second goal
United need someone to sit, it’s about game management. They’ve got players back, but the intensity from the attacking players.
Rashford, my God. Get out to him. Not enough aggression. You’ve got to be aggressive in this game.
For United to try and play out from the back in injury time, it’s criminal.
Old Trafford left absolutely stunned
Those 9,000 Liverpool fans absolutely jubilant as the half-time whistle sounds.
Their team started slowly and went behind but responded in outstanding fashion, slowly ramping up the pressure on United and then grabbing those two goals in the space of just four minutes.
It’s totally changed the complexion of this quarter-final tie and now we’ll see what United have in the locker.
Salah flips the game on its head
HALF-TIME: Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
Goodness me, this game has turned on a sixpence!
Man United were heading to the break ahead but Liverpool have hit them with a one-two Tyson Fury, up in the crowd, would be proud of.
Alexis Mac Allister drew them level and then Mohamed Salah with yet another goal against United giving Liverpool the half-time lead.
How Mac Allister levelled it up
GOAL! Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool – Mohamed Salah 45+2min
United have crumbled under the pressure. Liverpool are set to go into the break in front!
There is a VAR check for a foul against Fernandes, who went to ground, and also for an offside.
But it was an empathic finish by Salah, slamming the ball in off the post after Onana had punched out Darwin Nunez’s effort.
It will stand – Liverpool have turned it around in a matter of moments.
Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool
We have entered four minutes of stoppage time.
GOAL! Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool – Alexis Mac Allister 44mins
And there it is… Liverpool’s leveller. All down to the forward run of Jarell Quansah, who capitalised on Wan-Bissaka’s hesitation to tun through the right channel and into United’s box.
The ball fell to Mac Allister, whose strike took a hefty deflection to beat Onana and bring Liverpool back all-square.
I’d say the goal was coming. Liverpool had been slowly turning the screw ever since they fell behind. United got away with one with the disallowed Endo goal but couldn’t hold out.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Half-time approaching as Liverpool probe away looking for parity in what has been an absorbing cup tie so far.
It hasn’t quite happened for them yet and United carry plenty of threat on the counter.
Goal disallowed – Wataru Endo (Liverpool)
Have Liverpool levelled? They might well have done, looks tight as VAR put the lines on replays.
It was a ball played into Mohamed Salah, who might have been just offside. He cut back into Endo, who swept the ball into the bottom corner.
And, yes, Salah was offside by a fair way.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
United had just been on the back foot a little but Bruno Fernandes gets into shooting range. Not sure it was on target but Kelleher gets across to dive and save anyway.
Then a much better chance for McTominay to double United’s lead, but he strikes straight at the keeper following a good Rashford cut-back.
Straight down the other end and Onana saves really sharply from Luis Diaz at his near post.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Luis Diaz almost gets in behind Diogo Dalot, but the United defender recovers well to get a boot in and concede the corner. Robertson’s delivery thumped clear by McTominay.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Alexis Mac Allister the first player booked as he brings down Scott McTominay as United looked to break. Doubt he’ll be the last this afternoon.
Fernandes with the free-kick and Varane gets a looping header onto it that Kelleher can pluck out the sky.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Good from Liverpool as Mac Allister picks out Robertson on the left. His cross is teasing but Varane heads clear, only as far as Szoboszlai, whose shot is saved well by Onana, getting down low to his left.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Slick break by United with Garnacho, who slips the pass into Rasmus Hojlund. Caught in two minds over whether to shoot or cross, he slips over and does neither.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool get their foot on the ball and Darwin Nunez wins a corner off Victor Lindelof. It’s swung in nicely by Varane heads clear. An offside relieves the pressure on United for the time being.
They’ll very satisfied with their start and it’s Jurgen Klopp prowling the touchline with a vexed expression.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
The early signs of Wan-Bissaka down the left instead of his usual right-back role looking pretty positive. He breezes past Salah, who doesn’t seem fussed about tracking back.
Then Bruno Fernandes wins a free-kick for United near the left touchline. The Portuguese whips it in and it lands on the roof of the net.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Ironic cheers from then home fans as a cross-field ball intended for Mo Salah sails out of play.
The game open and stretched, which will suit both teams you imagine.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool working the ball around nicely, looking for the equaliser. It falls to Joe Gomez at the corner of the box and his strike flies over the ball. For all his versatility, probably not the best man for that chance to fall to.
McTominay plunders United’s opener
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool looking to respond and they break quickly on the transition. Cut back to Andy Robertson from the left but he clears the crossbar with his effort.
GOAL! Man United 1-0 Liverpool – Scott McTominay 10mins
United strike the first blow and it’s the new attacking Scott McTominay in the perfect spot to poach it.
Great play down the left channel involving Rashford and then Garnacho slipped through. His curling shot was pushed up and not out by Kelleher and in came McTominay to prod it home from close range.
The perfect start for Erik ten Hag’s men.
Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
So close by Mohamed Salah – terrific cross from the right side, drops over Diogo Dalot’s head without him being able to react and Salah on the volley trying to cushion it into the far corner. Just wide with Onana beaten.
Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool come forward for the first time but Dominik Szoboszlai’s hit is straight at Andre Onana.
Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
United attack again with Alejandro Garnacho whipping a ball across that comes perfectly into the orbit of Marcus Rashford. Hit with curl towards the far corner and Kelleher with a superb diving stop.
Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
United making a confident start, attacking down the left with Aaron Wan-Bissaka advanced and squaring. Kobbie Mainoo flicks out a leg and gets off a tame shot when if he’d let it roll to Scott McTominay, the Scot was better positioned.
That’s revved the crowd up even more.
KICK-OFF: Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
TV pictures of Sir Alex Ferguson taking his seat as Erik ten Hag emerges from the tunnel and salutes the Stretford End.
Jurgen Klopp already in his seat – Liverpool’s Quadruple dream to say farewell to him will live or die over the next 90 – or 120, or more – minutes.
Manchester United in traditional colours of red, white and black. Liverpool in change strip of white, green and black.
Here come the players
Outstanding atmosphere as the teams take the field. A huge red, white and black surfer flag has been unfurled on the Stretford End.
Bruno Fernandes and Virgil van Dijk lead their troops out into battle.
This is the one
Here we go then… the two sets of players lined up in the tunnel and, refreshingly, there’s barely any interaction between them let alone hugging and handshakes. Roy Keane will approve.
‘This is the One’ rings out at Old Trafford and this most eagerly-anticipated of FA Cup quarter-finals is moments away.
A reminder of the two teams
Manchester United: Onana, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Dalot, McTominay, Mainoo, Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, Hojlund.
A first class FA Cup atmosphere building at Old Trafford just as you’d expect.
9,000 Liverpool fans packing one end and the United support giving as good as they get.
Just a few minutes until kick-off now as the players go through their final preparations.
Warmups are underway!
Liverpool are on the pitch and are looking sharp as they go through their pre-match warmup.
Did you know today’s match will be the first time in over 12 years that Liverpool and United will have met at Old Trafford in an FA Cup quarter-final?
In his pre-match press conference Jurgen Klopp hinted his side may look to switch things up for their trip to Old Trafford.
‘I don’t know if we’ll play the same game [as December’s draw]. We really reached the next level in the season [after that].
‘Before that it was difficult to judge us, we had a lot to overcome, red cards, being 1-0 and then that game [v United] I saw it was really us in the next gear. Result didn’t show that.
‘It’s a home game for them but a lot of aspects in our game that were good and we try to bring them on the pitch again. We might do some things differently.’

Man United’s music blunder!
It seems Man United’s tannoy operators have given Liverpool fans something to sing about…
Can Liverpool win the quadruple?
With only two points seperating Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool at the top of the table we’re all set for what could be one of the most thrilling title races in Premier League history.
But can Jurgen Klopp win the quadruple in his final season at Anfield?
That could come down to their Premier League run-in with Opta’s supercomputer telling us who has the toughest fixtures.
Inside the Man United dressing room…
Erik ten Hag wrote in his programme notes: ‘All this week, the excitement around Carrington has been obvious.
‘I don’t need to explain to anybody the significance and size of this game.
‘We have the two greatest clubs in English football, with the greatest pedigree and rivalry facing each other.’
The big talking point: Mason Mount returns for United
Mount will make his return to United’s matchday squad for the first time since November after having been sidelined with injury.
Fans have been showing their excitement over his return on social media, with one writing ‘Mason Mount is BACK!’
Here’s the starting line ups for the match…
Man United XI:Â Onana, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Varane, Dalot, Mainoo, McTominay, Fernandes, Garnacho, Rashford, Hojlund
Liverpool XI:Â Kelleher, Gomez, Quansah, Van Dijk Robertson, Mac Allister, Endo Szoboszlai, Salah, Nunez, Diaz
Moyes re-ignites attempts to sign Maguire
Harry Maguire’s £30million move to West Ham broke down earlier this summer but it looks like the Hammers could go back in for the Man United defender.
The 31-year-old hasn’t featured in United’s last three matches due to injury but is set to make his return for the Red Devils and will start on the bench for today’s match.
West Ham are reportedly set to try to negotiate a cut-price deal for the defender and will table offers of around £20m – with Maguire’s contract set to expire in 2025.
Liverpool starting XI
It’s St Patrick’s day after all and Liverpool are set to turn out in their green away strip.
Ryan Gravenberch returns to the side following an injury, with Conor Bradley making way for Virgil van Dijk, while Joe Gomez looks set to start at right back.
Man United starting XI
Erik ten Hag will welcome back all of Rasmus Hojlund, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Mason Mount from injury for today’s match, with the trio having been sidelined in recent months.
Harry Maguire also returns for United after the defender had been absent for their last three matches. He’ll start on the bench for today’s match.
Tyson Fury gives his verdict on the game
‘I think it’s going to be an absolute classic!’, said the WBC Heavyweight champion, who was stood next to the pitch at Old Trafford.
Fury, a Man United supporter, gave his score predictions too, claiming ‘I’m a United fan so I’m going to go with the Reds and I’m going to say 3-2.’
The boxer added that he was wearing green, not just for St Patrick’s day but for ‘luck’.
‘Liverpool are an on form team so we’ll need a bit of luck to defeat them,’ he added.
Team news coming up soon!
We’re expecting the team sheets to arrive in the next ten minutes!
Harry Maguire, Rasmus Hojlund and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all likely to feature, while Diogo Jota and Ryan Gravenberch could be set to return for Liverpool.
There’s also been a bit of transfer gossip earlier this morning that both sides could be set to go head-to-head to sign one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting young talents.
Liverpool are in the house!
A few boos for the visitors who stepped off the bus at Old Trafford.
Fresh from his Cheltenham triumph!
Sir Alex Ferguson was pictured arriving at Old Trafford for the match today.
The legendary United manager has enjoyed a fine week at Cheltenham with two of his horses riding to victory.
Will his former side wrap up what coould be a perfect week for the Scotsman?
Ten Hag backs injury stricken star Mount
While Mason Mount has endured a tough start to life at Old Trafford, having been sidelined multiple times with several injuries, Erik ten Hag has continued to back the midfielder throughout.
The Man United boss sees the Englishman as one player who can push the Red Devils forward in the future
I’m convinced he will be [akey player]. He didn’t have the chance to prove this point. But he will be a very good player for Manchester United.
It’s been really unfortunate and disappointing for him [injuries] but also for us when you have such a class player in the middle and you can’t play him. He has had injuries as we all know.
Speaking of strikers…
Will we see Rasmus Hojlund back today?
Erik ten Hag was dropping a few hints earlier this week that the Dane could make his injury return later this afternoon…
We had a good week. The players you mention [Hojlund, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka] returned on the pitch, partly at the start of the week and they had a session [on Friday] and are all training. We have to see how they recover from this, but it looks good. I think [they will be fit to play].
Has Darwin Nunez clicked when Liverpool needed him most?
In my view, yes. Nunez has been in excellent form in the absence of Mohamed Salah.
Before the turn of the new year, he had struggled to find the back of the net but it was clear he possessed bags of raw talent.
And it seems he’s managed to find his form, scoring six goals in his last six games for the Reds and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
Mail Sport’s James Sharpe has taken a deep dive into the numbers that show that Nunez is on fire.
A heavyweight champion is in the house today!
Tyson Fury is set to fight Oleksandr Usyk in May, but it appears the Gypsy King has taken some time out of his training schedule to watch this huge clash between two heavyweights of English football.
Today’s programme cover
Several iconic photos from past and present United stars are printed on the front of today’s matchday programme.
On this day in 2016…
Here’s a throwback that I’m sure many Liverpool fans will want to watch again!
Philippe Coutinho produced this stunning chip to help United bounce back and seal a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in 2016.
Brazil deliver Man United hammer blow
Brazil announced their squad for their upcoming friendlies against England and Spain on Friday night but Casemiro was not named in the squad.
Head coach Dorival Junior revealed that the Man United midfielder will sit out the upcoming international break due to an injury.
Casemiro has played 90 minutes in Man United’s last three matches and it is now doubtful whether he’ll feature today against Liverpool.
Fernando Torres is up for the cup!
The former Liverpool striker showed his support for his old club, with a video emerging online of the Spaniard sparring in the gym while wearing a Trent Alexander-Arnold jersey!
Good afternoon!
