“I was innocent and they finally listened”. Andrew Malkinson has spent 20 years trying to clear his name, 17 of them in prison for a rape he did not commit.
Today Mr Malkinson finally had his conviction quashed by the Court of Appeal. The police have apologised for what they called a “grave miscarriage of justice”, but Mr Malkinson said his years behind bars had left a gaping black hole in his life.
