A HOME expert has shared the DIY trick she uses when decorating for Christmas.
The mother-of-three demonstrated how to turn a pool noodle into a festive homemade garland.
In her video, Ashley Marie Savage (@ashleymariesavage) explained: “This DIY pool noodle Christmas garland was so fun to make and makes such a statement on my stairwell during the holiday season.”
For the festive hack, Ashley used two green pool noodles, available for $2 each from Lowe’s.
The Instagrammer told viewers to “grab your pool noodle and you’re going to start cutting it, making a C shape.”
For her next step, Ashley secured the pool item to her railing using zip ties.
She continued: “Then grab your ornaments, I make sure to use ornaments in all sizes, and some ribbon.”
The DIY enthusiast began to hot glue the ornaments to her pool noodles.
“Make sure to use the bigger ornaments first and then fill in with the smaller ornaments,” Ashley advised.
She added: “Then I grabbed some greenery, cut it up, and placed it in any gaps that I had.”
The homeowner pointed out an additional benefit to the homemade decor.
“The best part is I can take off the pool noodle and re-use it each year,” she said.
Ashley added that the homemade garland “slides off easily” for easy removal and storage.
“I absolutely love how this turned out,” she concluded as she showed a close-up of the garland.
Her followers took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the tip.
“People are so smart today with their ideas. Just love it,” wrote one impressed viewer.
Another Instagram user said: “Literally SO BEAUTIFUL for the holiday season! I love this.”
“What a great idea!! This looks super pretty,” commented a third person.
