Premier League: Live scores, team news and updates as Man City cruise into a two-goal lead against Crystal Palace while Cole Palmer puts Chelsea ahead against Sheffield United – plus updates from the rest of the afternoon kick-offs
Lovely play from Newcastle, and Almiron finishes into the empty net. VAR checks for a possible offside against Wilson in the build-up, but he is just onside and the goal stands.
Bournemouth 1-1 Luton (Play suspended)
Lockyer has been carried down the tunnel. We can only hope he will be OK, and will bring you any updates when we get them.
Bournemouth 1-1 Luton (Play suspended)
Really distressing scenes with Lockyer remaining down, and the players have been taken into the changing room.
It’s the right call, we need to make sure Lockyer is OK. Remember the Luton captain collapsed during last season’s Championship play-off final.
Let’s hope this is nowhere near as serious.
Goal – Newcastle 1-0 Fulham (Lewis Miley)
A dream come true for the hometown hero as he comes off the bench to fire his side in front from a tight angle.
Man City 2-0 Crystal Palace
City made history in that first half with every outfield player creating a chance.
According to Opta, this is the first time this has happened since they began taking Premier League stats.
Goal – Chelsea 2-0 Sheffield United (Nicolas Jackson)
Two quickfire goals for Chelsea who are now in complete control.
It’s a poor error from goalkeeper Foderingham as he fails to hold onto the ball, and Jackson taps into the unguarded net.
Bournemouth 1-1 Luton
Really concerning scenes at the Vitality as Luton captain Lockyer has gone down with a head injury.
Luton manager Rob Edwards was extremely concerned and rushed onto the pitch. Lockyer is receiving treatment, this looks very serious.
Goal – Man City 2-0 Crystal Palace (Rico Lewis)
Grealish flicks the ball to Lewis who scores his first Premier League goal.
There is another VAR check for offside, but this time the goal stands.
Goal – Bournemouth 1-1 Luton (Dominic Solanke)
Bournemouth are level! Solanke has been in fine form, and he fires home with his left foot to get his team’s equaliser.
Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace
City think they have a second goal as Alvarez’s free-kick goes all the way in, but Rodri is intefering with play and is offside.
The flag goes up and VAR confirms it is the right call.
Goal – Chelsea 1-0 Sheffield United (Cole Palmer)
I said they’d started the second half pretty well and now Chelsea have a goal.
Palmer puts the ball in the net after a fine team move. There was a VAR check for offside, but the goal is given! Chelsea lead.
Second half starts at Newcastle
All four Premier League games are now back underway in the second half.
Bournemouth 0-1 Luton
Bournemouth made a change at the break with Billing coming on for Semenyo.
It hasn’t made a difference yet, though, with Luton holding firm in the early stages of the second half.
Chelsea 0-0 Sheffield United
Just one shot on target so far for Chelsea.
They’ve made a bright start to the second half but Palmer sees his shot blocked away.
Second half underway at Man City
Back underway at Bournemouth and Chelsea
Another frustrating first half for Chelsea
Another first half without a goal for Chelsea today.
Sheffield United have looked solid at the back so far, and the Blues haven’t been able to find a way through.
Injuries continue to pile up for Newcastle
Newcastle have a man advantage heading into the second half but have picked up two more injuries with Schar and Joelinton going off.
Jack Grealish is Man City’s difference-maker
Grealish has the only goal of the game as City look to sign off for the Club World Cup with a win.
Newcastle 0-0 Fulham (Half time)
Newcastle piled on the pressure as the half went on but they haven’t found a way through yet.
Honours even at the break.
Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace (Half time)
City lead at the break and deservedly so. Slightly more positive signs for Palace in the final five minutes of the half but they will need to do a lot more to get something from this game.
Newcastle 0-0 Fulham
Newcastle on top against 10-man Fulham but the visitors are still carrying a threat on the break, and Dubravka has to pull off a sharp stop to keep out Iwobi’s effort.
Eight minutes of added time after the red card and two Newcastle injuries so still a couple of minutes togo in the first half.
Chelsea 0-0 Sheffield United (Half time)
It’s not been great and no goals to report on at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea need to find another gear if they are going to pick up a much-needed win.
Bournemouth 0-1 Luton (Half time)
Half time at the Vitality Stadium and it’s so far so good for Luton.
They lead through Adebayo’s early header.
Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace
Moment of madness for Ederson who comes to get the ball when he can’t get there. Fortunately, the Palace player is going away from goal so it is only a yellow card and nothing worse for the City keeper.
Newcastle 0-0 Fulham
Another injury for Newcastle!
This time it is Joelinton who appears to have picked up a hamstring injury.
On comes 17-year-old Miley.
Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace
Palace are yet to have a shot on goal in this game.
But they are not completely out of it yet, only trailing by Grealish’s goal.
Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace
City still well on top and Palace have been forced into a change with Joel Ward going off.
He has been replaced by Ozoh.
Chelsea 0-0 Sheffield United
No goals yet at Stamford Bridge and it’s a familiar story for Chelsea as they struggle to break down Sheffield United’s stubborn defence.
Newcastle 0-0 Fulham
So close to an opening goal for Newcastle. The Magpies have a man advantage and nearly make the most of it as Gordon tries his luck but his shot comes back off the crossbar.
Bournemouth 0-1 Luton
Luton and Adebayo should have two.
It’s a glorious chance for Adebayo but he slices wide. How costly could that be?
Goal – Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace (Jack Grealish)
It’s been coming and it’s three in three in the league for Grealish.
He receives the ball from Foden and curls the ball into the corner of the net. There is a lengthy VAR check for offside, but he’s just managed to stay onside, and City deservedly lead.
Newcastle 0-0 Fulham
Raul Jimenez, what are you doing?!
The Fulham striker jumps into Longstaff and catches him straight in the face when the ball simply wasn’t there to be won.
He’s originally given a yellow card, but VAR intervenes and he is sent off. Fulham down to 10 men.
Bournemouth 0-1 Luton
Bournemouth are looking for a way back into this game and they nearly grab an equaliser but Tavernier’s effort goes narrowly wide.
Man City 0-0 Crystal Palace
This is looking ominous for Palace right now. It’s wave after wave of attack for City so far, and the hosts will wonder how they haven’t scored yet.
Chelsea 0-0 Sheffield United
The home team are on top with Gallagher looking bright in midfield. Still looking for that opening goal, though.
Newcastle 0-0 Fulham
This doesn’t look good for Newcastle.
Fabian Schar goes down with no one around him and he has to come off. He is replaced by Emil Krafth as Newcastle’s injury woes continue.
Man City 0-0 Crystal Palace
It’s one-way traffic at the Etihad but City can’t find a breakthrough yet.
Roy Hodgson has hit work cut out today.
Newcastle 0-0 Fulham
A lively start at St James’ Park with both sides looking bright in attack.
A couple of half-chances at either end but it remains 0-0.
Man City 0-0 Crystal Palace
City should be in front. Alvarez gets on the end of Walker’s cross and diverts it towards goal from just over six yards, but Henderson gets across brilliantly to keep it out.
Man City 0-0 Crystal Palace
City are dominating possession early on but yet to carve out a clear-cut opportunity.
Palace happy to sit back for the moment.
GOAL – Bournemouth 0-1 Luton (Elijah Adebayo)
What a start for Luton! Adebayo climbs highest and nods home from a corner to give the visitors a shock lead.
Chelsea 0-0 Sheffield United
Bright start from Chelsea as they get in down the left flank and force a corner.
Caicedo gets a shot off from the set-piece but Sheffield United clear to safety.
And we’re off!
Whistles blow around the country and the four matches are underway.
Here come the teams…
The players are making their way out onto the pitch and all four matches will be getting underway shortly.
Mo Farah at the Etihad!
We have Olympic royalty at the Etihad today as Mo Farah has popped in to check out the action.
Farah is an Arsenal fan so may be hoping for a City slip-up this afternoon. Will he get his wish?
All smiles for Mauricio Pochettino
