Whilst you might have tried selling your family’s old clothes online before, one mum has shared her tips and tricks for boosting Vinted sales with minimal effort.

For those who are unfamiliar with the app, its an online marketplace where you can buy and sell second items, like clothes, shoes and accessories.

Unlike others on the app, Lyndsay Joanne claims to have made over £200 in her first few months of using the site and is helping others do the same.

Better known as @lyndsay.and.the.girls on Tiktok, the content creator revealed that she had boosted her bank account just by changing a key detail on her Vinted listings.

In a now viral video, the Brighton mum told her fans that they needed to add as many key words as possible in your description.

“[For example] somebody might say a white shirt but you might say white blouse or any other kind of words, so make sure you are including all of those words,” Lyndsay revealed.

Though you might think an extra long title could put potential buyers off, she assured her followers that this wasn’t the case.

“Even if it looks like you’re repeating yourself and using a lot of words, it doesn’t matter,” she explained, adding: “That is how you are going to stand out and that’s how people are going to search for you.”

This wasn’t the only top tip that the content creator had, as her Tiktok channel is dedicated to help others make the most of each sale.

In fact, the busy mum actively encourage users to chat with interested buyers and even make them an offer as soon as they liked a piece of clothing.

“Every time someone favourite one of your items, go to them and send them an offer,” she urged fans, adding that this could double or even triple their sales.

She even admitted that she didn’t knock a huge amount off her items, maybe even as little as 50p, but this was enough to tempt customers.

“Everyone loves to feel like they are getting a bargain…so go to them and give them an offer and I promise you, it will turn around into sales and you’ll sell your item much quicker,” Lyndsay said.

It’s not surprising that many of her fans are eager to try out the tips and trick, with Vinted and similar apps becoming increasing popular in the UK.

As the cost of living crisis continues to bite, a study by Trustpilot has revealed that one in six people are now buying secondhand – contributing over £21 billion to the economy.

It seems there is no better time to get selling online, especially with payday still a few weeks away.
